Father Oschwald, rector of Sacred
Heart Cathedral, has asked for all families wishing for their child
to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2012 or 2013 (no matter
what high school you attend) to be present at a Mandatory
Confirmation Orientation Meeting for Parent and Child on Sunday,
August 28th from 4:00 -5:30pm to participate in this year's program.
Please mark your calendars now!
To ensure that all teens in our program have their
needs met we are implementing a placement test for all classes
during this meeting. The placement test provides us with
insight into student's knowledge base of the Catholic faith and an
opportunity to reach them at their level. We hope to offer
candidates classes that are smaller, engaging, and appropriate for
their needs.
Youth Group: Any student that has made
their Confirmation already and is in grades 9-12 may attend youth
group without attending Confirmation classes. Please fill out the
registration form and print off the
calendar. (Note:
Confirmation Year 1 and Year 2 students are required to attend Youth
Group as part of their faith formation).
Mission Trip: Our first Sacred Heart Cathedral High
School Summer Mission Trip will take place in the summer of 2012.
Any teen interested (rising 9th graders (Fall 2012 –grade 12) in
going on a mission trip and their parent can attend an Interest
Meeting on Sunday, August 21st
from 4-6pm. Read the
