Door Ministry

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

--Mother Teresa

Door Ministry began ten years ago as a way to meet the needs of the poor who, quite literally, came to the Sacred Heart office door in need of help. Formed and developed by Anne and Bill Werdel, the Door Fund and Door Ministry now serve the poor by helping them avoid eviction and/or helping to pay their past due water bills. The ministry also provides information of resources in the surrounding area that can also be of assistance. Thanks to the caring hearts and financial donations of Sacred Heart parishioners, this is a way that we follow in Jesus' footsteps among the poor. Envelopes for this ministry can be found in the vestibule of the Cathedral. If you would like to consider this as a ministry, “come and see” by contacting Barbara Quinby at socialconcern@sacredheartcathedral.org
